Marsin Home Care: Minnesota Heart, Compassionate Hand

Marsin's Current commitment to CLAS

Three CLAS Standards:

The National CLAS Standards are a set of 15 action steps intended to improve health equity, improve quality and help eliminate healthcare disparities by providing a blue print for individuals and organizations to implement culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS). Marsin will initially incorporate three of the 15 CLAS standards, with plans to integrate additional ones in subsequent phases.

Principal Standard

Provide effective, equitable, understandable and respectful quality care and services, responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred language, health literacy and communication needs.

Governance, Leadership and Workforce

Advance and sustain organization governance and leadership that promotes CLAS and health equity through policy, practices, and allocated resources.

Recruit, promote and support a culturally and linguistically diverse governance, leadership, and workforce responsive to the population in the service area.

Engagement, Continuous Improvement, and Accountability

Establish culturally and linguistically appropriate goals, policies, and management accountability and infuse them throughout the organization’s planning and operations.
